ABA Community Connection with Honors for Candice Cuartas, BCBA, LBA
We loved connecting with so many incredible BCBAs and industry peers who share our passion for transforming lives through ABA therapy at last month’s Utah Association for Behavior Analysis (UtABA) Annual Conference. The energy and excitement were palpable at Mountain America Expo Center and with such a strong response at our booth, all of our swag and merch were gone by the end of the event!
Perhaps the highlight of this unforgettable 2-day event was our very own Director of RBT Development, Candice Cuartas, BCBA, LBA accepting this year’s award for Outstanding Mentor! Candice has been instrumental in shaping our RBT team, leading with vision, dedication, and a passion for growth. Through her leadership of the innovative F.A.S.T. Track program and a team of Lead RBTs, she has empowered countless technicians with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive—making her truly deserving of this distinguished honor.
At Brighter Strides ABA, our core values aren’t just a few select words that sound good—they are the foundation of everything we do for the children and families we support—and how we support each other. Compassion, integrity, collaboration, and innovation guide every session, ensuring that each child’s unique strengths are honored with high-quality, individualized care, each family is properly supported, and each therapist is empowered to do their best work.
Visit our blog to see how our values come to life. Chief Marketing Director Moishe Kaufman explores how a values-driven approach drives both positive outcomes for children and empowers the ABA therapy teams that support them.
Raising Funds, Breaking Barriers, and Expanding Access
On Saturday, September 13, we proudly participated as an Endurance Sponsor in the Flutie 5K for Autism, which returned to Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City for its third consecutive year—strengthening support for the autism community across Utah!
As the visionary organizing body behind the Flutie 5K fundraising event series, the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism has spent 25 years breaking down barriers to care and supporting families affected by autism. We met so many great people and are proud to have been part of a special day dedicated to unifying communities, raising critical funds, and expanding access to the life-changing programs and services that help people and families with autism live life to the fullest.
The dedicated Duluth, GA team is bringing new opportunities for creative connection both inside and outside the center!
The team recently hosted a fun-filled event for young children and their families at Funville Factory featuring pizza, goodie bags, prizes, and hands-on, sensory-friendly activities. The event gave parents an opportunity to meet the team and connect with other Brighter Strides families, while the kids enjoyed a clean, safe indoor playground designed to explore, play, and learn through fun.
Last month at the center, cooking and decorating pancakes turned into a recipe for fun and growth—blending art, teamwork, and social-emotional learning while exploring emotions together! And during one of Lead RBT Kamoy Roberts’ weekly arts and crafts sessions, the children painted with plastic forks to give porcupine drawings their signature prickly texture!
Through playful, hands-on activities, our youngest learners explored the building blocks of daily routines—practicing life skills like following directions, transitioning between activities, and engaging with peers. From worksheets to storytime, each activity was designed to spark curiosity while strengthening communication, independence, and confidence. In each moment, our children are learning while having fun, building the foundation for a lifetime of success.
On Saturday, September 6, our Charlotte clinical team proudly joined the 2nd Annual Nathaniel’s HopeMAKE ‘m SMILE North Carolina at CaroMont Health Park in Gastonia. As a Resource Exhibitor, we connected with families, shared resources, and celebrated alongside kids and adults with special needs during a fun-filled day of food, games, live performances, and community connection.
It was an incredible honor to be part of this joyful event that brings families together and creates opportunities for support and inclusion. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Brighter Strides ABA booth—we loved meeting you!
On Tuesday, September 16, we proudly opened the doors of our new center at 4909 Expressway Drive, Suite D, Wilson, NC, 27893! Together with the Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, we celebrated with families, community partners, and local leaders during an official ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration filled with under-the-sea themed activities, refreshments, and tours of our new state-of-the-art facility.
We are honored to bring center-based ABA therapy to the children and families of Wilson and grateful for the strong community partnerships that make this work possible. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day such a success!

On September 29, we came out swinging in support of children, teens, adults, and families impacted by autism across Oklahoma.
Brighter Strides joined the Drive Fore Autism tournament with a sponsored foursome, helping AutismOklahoma deliver 85 free or low-cost programs that bring lasting joy and higher quality of life to the autism community.
We enjoyed a beautiful day at Kickingbird Golf in Edmond, turning a round of golf into support for the over 4,500 autistic individuals and families served each year.
Thank you for being part of our growing impact to better the lives of children and families living with autism. Together, we’re expanding access to quality care and engaging the community in the life-changing impact of ABA therapy.
